Description
India’s first “District Good Governance Index (DGGI)” for the UT of Jammu and Kashmir was designed and developed by CGG as knowledge partner to DARPG, Govt. of India. The DGGI helps to identify the impact of various government interventions at District-level and provides a futuristic roadmap for improving District-level governance and service delivery with targeted interventions. The first of its kind in the country project was launched by the Govt. of India and Govt. of J&K on 22nd January 2022. The DGGI for 20 districts of Jammu and Kashmir was virtually released by the Union Minister of Home and Cooperation.
The DGGI is a framework comprising of performance under ten governance sectors having 58 indicators with 116 data points. The criteria has been adopted after following a rigorous and robust process of data collection, screening and validation by each of the Districts.
With the governance model successfully set up for UT of J&K, the framework will be replicated for many states and UTs. CGG has already started preliminary works on design and development of DGGI for Arunachal Pradesh and Assam and Gujarat is in pipeline.
